Why did they come here? I wonder. I can’t ask anyone what that place is, I need to remain undetected, so I decide to stay nearby and wait till nightfall.

     I come back to find two worried faces staring at me. I move backward, to try to gain some personal space, and find that every muscle in my body is sore. “Are you okay?” they say together at the pained look that must have crossed my face. “Yeah,” I say to pacify them, even though I hurt everywhere, “what happened?”
     Diego says, “Janus was behind you doing something-“
     “Helping the process begin,” Janus interrupts.
     “Yeah,” Diego says, “that, and then you got really tense and we couldn’t move you, you were holding onto the chair so tightly, so we just had to wait, and then you came out of it.”
     “I’ve never had this happen before. What did you see?” Janus asks. To me he seems more interested in what happened than how I am.
     “I saw a fog, and there were people and sounds and voices there. They all seemed familiar, but I couldn’t quite get to them. Were those my memories?” I ask.
     “They could be, which means you’ve only lost access to the memories, not the memories themselves,” Janus says. “They may come back by themselves eventually, but if you want them back soon, I’m going to have to keep working on you,” he pauses, glancing towards the window. “But not tonight, it is already late, you two should get some sleep,” he points to the curtain I saw earlier, “go through there and then go through the curtain on the right, there should be some sickbeds back there.”
     I try to get up, but my knees buckle underneath me. Luckily Diego was close enough to catch me, “Let me help,” he says, helping me to the room.
