After helping her, I go back to ask Janus what was really happening.
     “I’m not sure,” he says. “It’s as if there’s something undoing my magic. But that can’t happen unless…”
     “Unless what?” I ask.
     “It is rare, hasn’t been seen in at least a century, probably more,” he says to himself. Now I get why my parents always hated having to talk to fully grown wizards, if they were all like this.
     “Unless what?” I try again, getting impatient.
     “Do you know how magic works, in witches and wizards?” he asks, instead. I sigh, remembering what my parents said.
     “Not really,” I say, going along with him, hoping he gets to the point soon.
     “Well, it’s like being good at crafting or running, people are naturally better at some things than others. Magic is sort of like that. You can be naturally better at one type than another type, but you can still learn the others. Such as myself, I was always better at healing magic than other types, but I can still light a candle, which is fire magic,” he pauses, looking to see if I understand. After nodding yes, he continues, “Well, the reason wizards are trained as soon as it shows up is because if we don’t learn how to control it, the magic will find a way out.”
